AJ Electrical began as a partnership formed between Mr. Alan Naylor and Mr. John Hayward. The two had been working together for a number of years, at various electrical and shopfitting contractors. They often talked about starting up their own business one day.

In June 2000 they finally decided to take the plunge and AJ Electrical was born in September 2000.

By July 2001 AJ Electrical had become an employer and moved into small premises in early 2002.

In February 2003 the partnership became incorporated as a limited company and became AJ Electrical (Wakefield) Ltd. They also increased staffing levels to include ten employees.

September 2007 saw the Company move into larger premises, and again increase staffing levels to handle the increasing demand

Due to constant changes in British Standards, all staff including employees, and management alike, are constantly updating their qualifications, and have all the necessary City and Guilds of London certification. Experience is also a factor, with Alan being in the trade since 1991 and John since 1985.

Staff are well versed in all aspects of electrical installation, from an extra socket in a domestic situation through maintenance and breakdowns, to full installations in the commercial and industrial area.

All employees are fully time served and apprentice trained. No sub-contractors are used.

AJ Electrical are enrolled with the NIC-EIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) as a Fully Approved Contractor, and as a recognised Domestic Installer making them fully compliant with Part P, Building Regulations.

They are also registered with UKAS product certification and, with Constructionline, the U.K register of pre-qualified construction services.
